More recognition for Stacey
May 18, 2017
Hopetoun enrolled nurse Stacey Daly has added another string to her bow after winning a Youth Award.
Yarriambiack Shire, its Youth Action Council and Victorian Government presented her an award for her achievements in health and wellbeing.
Yarriambiack Shire councillors Helen Ballentine and Shane Roberts presented Stacey with her award. It comes after Stacey was recognised late last year by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation for her achievements as a student nurse.
Stacey received a certificate and a $200 cheque from the federation for winning the 2016 Student Nurse Award at Swan Hill’s Sunraysia Institute of TAFE.
The Rural Northwest Health nurse said she was humbled to receive the award.
“It was surprising and flattering to receive this award because our shire has many great young people who are achieving wonderful things,” Stacey said.
“I’d doubt any of us do what we do to win awards but it’s great to be recognised,” she said.
“I love my job at the Hopetoun campus so this is icing on the cake.”
