Please meet our new Warracknabeal Nurse Unit Manager Kristy Toohey.
Originally from Melbourne, some may remember Kristy from her time undertaking an Enrolled Nurse Traineeship with RNH way back in 2001.
Moving back to Melbourne to gain experience in a variety of different health service settings, the rural lifestyle was never far from Kristy’s mind, and she returned to rural nursing at the Hopetoun Campus for a period of seven years.
Completing her Bachelor of Nursing in 2020, Kristy most recently worked as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager which gave her a valuable opportunity to develop her leadership and clinical skills.
With a passion for the rural health setting, and the unique challenges it can present, Kristy believes that the variety of nursing skills required in the rural setting make for some amazing opportunities.
Outside of work, Kristy and her partner have three children and two huskies, and she enjoys fishing and being in, or on, the water.
A self-confessed “very keen” Collingwood supporter, Kristy also enjoys watching her youngest daughter play netball.
Appreciating the supportive culture at RNH, Kristy is eager to continue developing her leadership skills with the innovative organisation.
