Sunday’s sweltering heat failed to deter the Rural Northwest Health team from celebrating alongside the 17,000 other contingents participating in the Midsumma Pride March in St Kilda.
Representing the organisation’s commitment to being a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming employer, the RNH contingent were welcomed with love, enthusiasm, acceptance and, most importantly, pride by the other marchers and spectators alike.
Truly a sight to behold, the march reinforced just why being visible is so very important.
“What a great day, and so amazing to share such an emotional, proud, and incredible day with you all.
Midsumma is one of the most important events in the Rainbow Community, and it was an honour and a privilege to not only attend, but also march.
To be marching is to be visible, and to be visible is to be authentic.
As seen in small pockets of the day, there were failed efforts of protestors who attempted to dampen our spirits and bring us down, but their attempts were pale in comparison to the loud love, inclusive, accepting, and vibrant community we were surrounded by.
Attending Midsumma whilst representing RNH is incredibly special – it is a testament to RNH not only becoming truly inclusive, but showcasing the diversity of our teams and how important acceptance in the workplace is.

“It was amazing to represent RNH and our LGBTQ family in the march. I was so proud to be in the inaugural contingent and I am already looking forward to next year!!”
