A new case of measles has been reported in Victoria. This is in addition to the two measles cases reported on Friday.
All three cases were infectious while visiting a number of sites across Melbourne in mid-January, and have been linked to travel in Vietnam, with a total of seven recent Victorian measles cases now connected to travel in this region.
There has been an increase in notified cases of measles in returned travellers across Australia in recent weeks. Growing outbreaks have been reported internationally including in Vietnam and Thailand.
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that can spread from person-to-person and potentially lead to serious health complications.

Chief Health Officer Dr Tarun Weeramanthri wishes to advise that two new cases of measles have been reported in Victoria.
Exposure occurred in Melbourne on January 15 and 16 at the listed sites below.
Anyone who attended the listed exposure sites during the specified times should contact their GP as soon as possible today to discuss the need for post-exposure prophylaxis and monitor for symptoms of measles.
These new cases have been linked to travel in Vietnam, adding to the four recent Victorian measles cases also connected to travel in this region.
