As far as coincidences go, completing your graduate nursing program on the same day you go on maternity leave would be hard to beat.
However, that’s the reality Manique Cox faced last week, completing the program on Sunday…the same day she left RNH to prepare to welcome baby number three.
CEO Jenni Masters, the executive and education teams and colleagues gathered at an afternoon tea on Friday to congratulate Manique, who has been with RNH team for eight years.
Described by Clinical Educator Céline Melican as “a leader of the future”, Manique joined the team in 2016 after a successful career as an out of home carer for disadvantaged youth.
“I like working with the elderly so decided to become a Personal Care Attendant. I saw a need for more leaders in the Aged Care environment, so I made the decision to study to become an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN),” Manique said.
“And then I just kept going.”
“I started studying to become a Registered Nurse while I was a Graduate Enrolled Nurse and remained with RNH to complete the Registered Nurse graduate program.”
As noted by CEO Jenni, Manique actively demonstrates the RNH values.
And, if she wasn’t already busy enough as a young mum, Manique is already enrolled to undertake further study in 2024.
Congratulations Manique.
