A crowd of 72 people shook off the winter chill on Wednesday, warming themselves with an array of delicious fare during the always-popular Curry Night.
Hosted by the Warracknabeal Rotary Club at Warracknabeal Neighbourhood House and Learning Centre, the evening included guest speaker Mildura’s David Yudkin sharing his 40+ years of nursing experience.
Having worked in Oncology for the past decade, David is an Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist at Mildura Base Hospital, who has an exceptional understanding of disparities in treatment outcomes for regional Australians, compared to those who live in metropolitan areas.
Warmly welcomed by the crowd, David answered many questions throughout the evening.
Proving the generosity of rural communities, the evening raised $350 for the Community Education Foundation, which assists school-leavers with education or work equipment.
However, Rural Northwest Health was the biggest beneficiary, with the crowd donating a huge $650 for the RNH Cancer Support Group.
Thank you to Warracknabeal Rotary Club, and to the community for supporting the event.
Curry night a success
