Eight Yarriambiack women took proactive action on their health last week, journeying to Horsham for breast screening as part of the RNH CASED project.
The project aims to increase the access that rural and remote women have to breast screening, including those with underlying health conditions.
RNH Health Promotion Coordinator Tif said the needs assessment conducted prior to screening notified that access to these screenings is one of the greatest barriers to attendance.
Amongst the women attending was former Hopetoun Matron Una Splatt (pictured with Tif).
Enjoying a day out, some of the comments from the attendees included “best health trip ever” and “I’ve never been taken care of this much”.
RNH hopes to host a similar trip in the future.
