Following on from an initial trial in October, RNH aged care residents recently joined staff in sampling some more molded food options.
Aimed at being tasty, nutritious and visually appealing, the foods also meet International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) regulations ensuring they are suitable for residents with varying swallowing, health, and/or dietary needs.
Sampling foods including salmon, tuna, chicken, beef rissoles, sausages, and desserts including sticky date pudding, the residents and teams were intrigued to learn how the food tasted, smelt, and how the texture of the dishes felt in their mouths.
