Checking out the Southwest TAFE mobile skills lab when it made a return visit to Hopetoun recently were (from left) school-based apprentice-trainee Rori Marshmann, SW TAFE’s John Flett, Nurse Unit Manager Alison Fischer, and Workplace Trainer and Careers Advisor Jo Filippe.
Aimed at assisting school-based apprenticeship-traineeship students, like Rori, to gain practical skills and hands-on experience, the lab initiative recently won the Victorian Training Awards Industry Collaboration award and will now represent Victoria at the Australian Training Awards in December.
“Rural areas are very fortunate that we are able to access this award-winning skills lab,” Jo said.
RNH is proud to be able to offer young people the opportunity to start their careers, and is excited to announce that Rori, who will finish her secondary schooling at the end of the year, will enter a traineeship with RNH to complete a Certificate 3 in Leisure and Lifestyle at our Hopetoun campus in 2025.
