Warracknabeal campus staff gathered this afternoon to farewell Allied Health Team Leader Abby Powell who is heading on maternity leave.
Expecting her first child in July, Abby said while she will be sad not to see her “work family” every day and will be back, she is also excited for the weeks and months ahead.
“Thank you all for making my time at RNH so rewarding. I’ve grown so much,” Abby said.
“Thank you also for your support during the good times, and the not so good times. Keep doing what you do best and keep looking after our communities,” she said.
Presenting Abby with flowers and a gift, CEO Jenni Masters and Executive Manager Community Services Paula Noble thanked Abby for her time, wishing her all the best.
“Today is a sad, but poignant day,” Jenni said.
“You have been a big part of the organisation with your skills, competence and passion. We will miss you but it’s also an exciting time and we wish you all the best,” she said.
Paula encouraged Abby to do what is best for her and her baby, and to take her time.
“You don’t get that time back so the household chores can wait,” she said.
“We are all super excited for you and while we don’t want you to rush coming back, please don’t delay either”.
