Friday saw the Warracknabeal Campus tearoom overflow with staff expressing their well wishes to departing team members, Administration/Rostering Assistant Sharon Watts and Environmental Services Manager Trenton Crisp.
Executive Manager People, Culture and Safety Glenn Hynes thanked both for their “outstanding service and commitment”.
Sharon has been with RNH for over 30 years, commencing as a nurse and later moving to rostering and administration.
Thanking everyone who has been a part of her journey, Sharon said she has seen a lot of changes during her time (and enjoyed many pranks with colleagues), and that she will miss everyone.
Administration Team Leader Alison Fernandez described Sharon as having always gone “above and beyond”, and a pleasure to have as part of the administration team.
“There was nothing Sharon wouldn’t put her hand up for, even stepping back into nursing during Covid,” Alison said.
Joking that he feels he had had “more farewells than the Queen”, Trenton has also had a long association with RNH, even being born at the hospital 43 years ago.
“The residents have always been the focus, and I hope that continues,” he said.
Former board chair Leo Casey said he had had a long association with both Sharon and Trenton, and wished them both well, describing Sharon as “an ornament to the community who always got the job done”.
Presenting both with a beautiful bunch of flowers, Glenn wished them well.
Sharon will now take a well-deserved break before stepping back into a casual role, while Trenton has relocated to Gippsland to start a new job.
