Rural Northwest Health Hopetoun wishes to advise that it will remain contactable via its landline 5083 2000 between Friday and Wednesday as Telstra works to upgrade its mobile base station in the town.
The upgrades, earmarked to bring the new 5G network to the region, mean there will be no Telstra mobile service in the area between Friday and Wednesday, with testing on Thursday likely to cause further service interruptions.
Telstra has advised that its customers can continue to make calls and send texts during the service disruption by switching on Wi-Fi calling.
To ensure you and your family stay safe during the service disruption:
• Let your family and friends know about the outage and that you will be non-contactable via mobile phone during this period.
• Consider using available landline services.
• Write down important contact numbers in case you need them during an emergency.
• Listen to local radio for any emergency updates.
