Putting rest to the rumours circulating the region, Woodbine Inc. has confirmed that Rural Northwest Health will take on the management of YarriYak Café from April 30.
Initially developed to give people with disabilities an opportunity to learn customer service, food handling, and barista skills, YarriYak Café has been a beloved part of RNH for many years.
A community-driven service, RNH is eager to keep the café and these opportunities going.
“Rural Northwest Health is excited to engage with the community and grow the café to offer even more initiatives and job skills for people with disabilities,” RNH CEO Jenni Masters said.
Woodbine CEO Jason Minter said it’s a “natural, positive transition” for RNH to now take the lead in managing the café.
Currently employing three staff, Mr Minter said no job cuts are planned for the café.
