June 21 marks MND Global Awareness Day, an opportunity to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and express hope that there will one day be a cure.
The term for a group of neurological disorders that progressively damage the nerve cells or motor neurones, responsible for voluntary muscle movements like walking, speaking, breathing, and swallowing, MND is both progressive and life-limiting.
While the cause of MND remains unknown and diagnosis can be challenging due to its similarities with other neurological conditions, our highly trained Movement Disorder Nurse can work with you to manage your condition and maintain a meaningful quality of life.
They can visit you within the Yarriambiack Shire, whether you are at home, in hospital, or in aged care.
