RNH is excited to announce that a project to replace carpets in our Hopetoun campus offices, hallways and common areas commenced today.
Receiving $55,000 grant funding under the Aged Care Capital Assistance Program (ACCAP), the team from Wimmera Floorworld began works today to remove the carpet and prepare the surface ready to lay the commercial-grade vinyl shortly.
Having already replaced the carpet in all of our Hopetoun residents’ rooms, the carpet that remained in the connecting corridors, common spaces and offices was worn and faded due to heavy, daily foot traffic.
The new, non-slip vinyl is not only scratch and moisture-resistant, and a better option toward reducing the infection risk, but much brighter which will better help our residents with low-vision and/or dementia to better navigate the areas, reducing anxiety and improving their independence and comfort.
