Rural Northwest Health was excited to have Sandi Hawkes and Shelly Carter complete the RNH Graduate Nurse Program this week.
Completing the 12-month program as an Enrolled Nurse and Registered Nurse, respectively, Shelly and Sandi agreed that the supportive environment made their first year of practice so much more pleasant.
“I chose to return for my RN graduate year after working at RNH previously in another role,” Sandi said.
“The supportive team environment is a credit to the organisation and the reason I stayed on. It felt like coming home,” she said.
Sandi’s comments were echoed by Shelly who said that she had felt exceptionally supported in her previous role at RNH.
Executive Manager Clinical Services Joseph Bermudo said it is so important for rural, remote, and regional health services to “grow their own”.
“Although RNH is in a great position with recruitment currently, it’s reassuring to have the capacity to grow our own staff and to have them want to stay on,” he said.
Congratulations, Graduates
