Today marks World Autism Awareness Day; an opportunity to raise awareness of autism and to recognise and celebrate the contributions of Autistic people.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person’s brain develops and functions, with around 1 in 100 Australians – our family members, friends, colleagues and neighbours – diagnosed as Autistic.
Affecting the way that individuals interact with others and how they experience the world around them, Autism presents differently between individuals – each person has unique strengths and challenges.
