This week saw the last session of our Mums and Bubs Exercise Group.
The first of its kind delivered by RNH, the program proved a great success with 5 mums and bubs taking part over the 10 weeks.
Commencing with an initial assessment by Exercise Physiologist Abby, who started the group, the mums’ weekly sessions included basic pelvic floor, core and strength-focused exercises post-birth, then progressed to a Pilates class, gym sessions, cardio and even boxing.
All mums showed great improvements in strength and their confidence in getting back into exercise, and our Allied Health Assistants/Intake team were excited to be tasked with keeping the babies entertained each session.
Although Abby is shortly heading off on leave, RNH is hopeful that our new staff will keep the program going in 2026 to support new mums to get back into exercise in a safe and supportive environment.
