Our Hopetoun residents received a very cute surprise on Tuesday, welcoming Amanda Cook and her therapy dogs along for a visit.
Happily patting and talking to Larry and Doug, the residents reminisced about their own former pets and the joy animals brought to their lives, leaving all with big smiles on their faces.
Therapy dog visits provide a welcome distraction for residents, including those who may be experiencing chronic pain, provide mental stimulation, help with reminiscence, and can help increase social interaction.
