In what has been described as a positive transition for the organisation, Rural Northwest Health has taken on the management of YarriYak Cafe from today.
Initially developed to give people with disabilities, just like the ever-smiling customer service legend Jarod Wilson, an opportunity to learn customer service, food handling, and barista skills, YarriYak Cafe has been a beloved part of RNH for many years.
Serving a range of dietitian-approved healthy, tasty, and nutritious food and drinks, the cafe is a community-driven service that RNH is eager to keep going.
“We are excited to engage with the community and grow the cafe to offer even more initiatives and job skills for people with disabilities,” CEO Jenni Masters said.
Formerly managed by Woodbine Inc., CEO Jason Minter said it’s a “natural, positive transition” for RNH to now take the lead in managing the cafe.
An official opening will follow in coming weeks.
