World Immunisation Week, marked annually from April 24–30, highlights the collective action needed to promote vaccines, protecting people of all ages against diseases.
At Rural Northwest Health our immunisation team plays a critical role in preventing outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in both the hospital and the community by ensuring the safe delivery of vaccination programs in line with the current Australian Immunisation guidelines.
By ensuring staff are fully vaccinated, RNH not only protects our workforce, patients and aged care residents, but also reduces transmission risk, contributes to broader community immunity, and safeguards vulnerable population within the local area. We also help promoting awareness on vaccine-related information provided by the local Public Health Unit to increase uptake across diverse populations.
