$60,000 for cancer research

While some people would spend their annual leave resting or catching up on household chores, our Executive Manager Community Services Paula Noble was instead taking part in the 2025 Laanecoorie Gold Bash, raising a spectacular $60,708.03 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
The gold bash committee have been fundraising since 2011 but the 2025 fundraising figure was an absolute record breaker!
Humbled to be part of the committee, Paula said the prospecting community has shown remarkable kindness – from sponsors who supplied goods to auction and raffle, to community members who purchased auction items, donated money, participated in raffles, token hunts, treasure maps, Stake your Claim, and all in between.
As a great group, which includes Paula and her husband Justin, the crew may be small in numbers, but they are mighty.
