Popular Yarriambiack Lodge residents Laurie and Kath Tomlinson celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a party at the Warracknabeal campus.
Fellow residents, family and friends helped the couple celebrate the incredible milestone.
Laurie and Kath grew up in Warracknabeal. Laurie served his country in the RAAF during the Second World War as a radio operator. When he returned from the fighting, Laurie and Kath married and moved to Adelaide.
Incredibly, Laurie spent 50 years working with the Civil Aviation Authority in South Australia. His role included managing several airports including iconic Australian landmarks such as Broken Hill and Alice Springs. On retirement, the couple returned to Warracknabeal in 2002.
Just over three years ago, they moved into Yarriambiack Lodge where they call Honey Myrtle wing home. Laurie and Kath have two daughters, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren (so far).
