Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Dr Clare Looker has issued a new measles alert, following a second case entering Melbourne on February 19.
Dr Looker said a traveller returning from overseas transited through Melbourne Airport while infectious.
Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that can spread from person-to-person and potentially lead to serious health complications.
People who have attended the listed exposure sites during the specified dates and times should monitor for symptoms of measles, and anyone who has developed measles symptoms should seek medical care; wear a mask and call ahead to ensure you can be isolated from others.
