The foot care nurses help take the burden off the podiatrist’s huge workload. Once the podiatrist has assessed a client, they may then be referred to the foot care nurse.

Clients eligible for this service are those with non-complex care requirements. For the aged, it may be that some clients just can’t reach their toes. If they require more complex care, the foot clinic nurse will refer back to the podiatrist. The podiatrist and the foot care nurses work closely together to ensure all clients get the best possible care.

Foot care clinics are at all three RNH campuses. They are open for community clients in Warracknabeal the first two Mondays of the month and every Wednesday; in Hopetoun the last two Mondays of the month and every eight weeks at Beulah. Foot care nurses attend aged care clients on Tuesdays in Hopetoun and Warracknabeal.
