Well done to all the tradies in Hopetoun and Warracknabeal who downed tools and dropped in for a health check during Tradies Month.
RNH health promotion officer Kelsey Hamilton organised clinicians to provide free health checks specifically targeting trade workers in both towns. Almost 80 tradies took advantage of the promotion and the response from was appreciative and positive.
‘I haven’t had my blood pressure checked in 6-12months- what should my blood pressure be?’
‘I will take the results I received to my next GP appointment.’
‘This is a good initiative- thanks for coming.’
‘I’m surprised how often a physiotherapist is available in Hopetoun therefore I won’t have to travel to Horsham.’
‘It’s good to have these checks. It gives us the opportunity because otherwise we wouldn’t get our health checked.’
The health checks included blood pressure checks, glucose checks, a healthy breakfast and a stretching program.
