Outside support for Elli Martha

The Elli Martha Fund has been bolstered by generous support from outside its community.

Dadswells Bridge Motel and Namaskar Indian Restaurant owners Noel and Laura Maslamoney have thrown their support behind the fund with a wonderful prize for a monthly raffle.

Each month, the couple will offer overnight accommodation for two people at Dadswells Bridge Motel and dinner for two in the Namaskar Restaurant, valued at around $150.

Elli Martha fund supporter Bernie O’Connor said the offer was a surprising and pleasing result.

“Noel and Laura are on the Western Highway between Horsham and Stawell and would normally have little involvement with the Warracknabeal community,” Mr O’Connor said.

“So for them to throw their support behind this is amazing,” he said.

“Like everyone else, they had been touched by Elli Martha’s story, and they wanted to do something.

“It’s very generous and very much appreciated.”

Tickets are now on sale for the first raffle at $2 each They are available at Rural Northwest Health reception, YarriYak Café and Woodbine reception.

Winners will be drawn on the first business day of each month.
