A Warracknabeal farmer, Julia has an extensive CV of community work and executive employment. She grew up in Wellington, NSW, and after completing a Bachelor of Economics and Graduate Diploma of Agriculture, she began working as a field merchant for Cargill Australia. While working as a grain accumulator, Julia met husband Tim and the couple started a family in 2014. It was then that Julia started part time work lecturing in Risk Management at Longerenong College.
Her community work includes five years with Warracknabeal Action Group, three years as chair, six years with Warracknabeal Evening Branch of CWA, three years as group treasurer and she is currently chair of St Mary’s Primary School Parent Advisory Council.
She has continued her studies and her most recent accomplishments include a Graduate Certificate for Rural Leadership through James Cook University and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Julia joined the board at RNH in 2016 and just a few months later, she was appointed chairperson, replacing longstanding chair Leo Casey.
She is passionate about her role with Rural Northwest Health and about her community’s wellbeing.
