Dr Amanda Kenny
Amanda, a registered nurse and midwife holds a PhD in rural health policy. She is a Professor of Rural and Regional Nursing at La Trobe University’s Rural Health School. Amanda is widely published internationally and is frequently invited as a key speaker at national and international conferences.
As a senior researcher her work focuses on models of rural health service delivery, consumer participation in healthcare and workforce development. She has conducted extensive research and consultancies for government with an emphasis on health service design, funding models and workforce development.
Amanda is committed to strong and effective governance of health services and she has extensive experience on rural health service boards. She describes Rural Northwest Health as one of Australia’s leading rural health services and one of the most unique, because of the commitment to evidence-based practice, research, and the meaningful way the service engages the community in all aspects of health service design, delivery and evaluation. She is delighted to be a member of the board.
